$2M in Crypto Donations Collected for Turkey After Quake

Following a disaster caused by an earthquake in Kahramanmaraş and surrounding cities in Turkey, the crypto industry worldwide joined forces to help Turkey. The 7.7 magnitude earthquake caused widespread damage and took the lives of 3,549 people, injuring 22,168 others. The tragedy was referred to as one of the worst earthquakes of the century.

Leaders in the crypto industry, including Binance CEO, Bitfinex, Gate_io, and Bitget, expressed their support and took action. The Binance CEO sent a message of support on Twitter and Bitfinex is planning to create a support package for Turkey. Meanwhile, Gate_io announced its readiness to send relief packages to the earthquake area.

Turkish rock singer and philanthropist Haluk Levent shared crypto wallet addresses on the Binance network where stable crypto donations can be made.

The world also saw the support of El Salvador President Nayib Bukele. Bukele prayed for the safety and well-being of the Turkish people and issued a message through his official Twitter account. His government is ready to provide any necessary assistance to the Turkish government to overcome this disaster.
